So, what is ruokosokeri?

Ruokosokeri is a natural sweetener derived from sugarcane. It has a light golden color and a slightly caramel-like flavor that makes it a popular choice for baking and cooking. Unlike refined white sugar, ruokosokeri contains trace amounts of minerals such as calcium, iron, and magnesium, making it a more nutrient-dense option. Additionally, it has a lower glycemic index, which means it doesn't cause spikes in blood sugar levels. Ruokosokeri can be used in a 1:1 ratio in recipes calling for white sugar and adds a subtle depth of flavor to dishes.

How to quickly find the source of ingredients like ruokosokeri?

We've built a database of 49359 ingredients (and growing), classified as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "maybe vegan".

We use it in our vegan ingredients scanner, which is the best way to avoid non-vegan ingredients - you take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
