So, what is saccharinate?
Saccharinate is a type of artificial sweetener that is commonly used as a sugar substitute in food and beverages. It is a low-calorie alternative to sugar, with an intense sweetness that is approximately 300-400 times greater than table sugar. Saccharinate is often found in products such as soft drinks, chewing gum, and baked goods, as well as in diabetic and low-calorie foods. While it has been approved as safe for consumption by various health authorities, some studies have suggested that consuming large amounts of saccharinate may have negative health effects.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
