So, what is saindou?
Saindou, also known as shea butter, is a versatile and nutrient-rich food ingredient derived from the nuts of the African shea tree. With its ivory color and smooth texture, saindou has been used in traditional African cooking for centuries. It's high in healthy fatty acids, vitamins A and E, and other natural compounds that offer anti-inflammatory and antioxidant benefits. Saindou has a nutty flavor and can be used as a cooking oil, spread, or ingredient in desserts. It's also commonly used in skincare products due to its moisturizing and healing properties.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
