So, what is scallion?
Scallions, also known as green onions, are a versatile and flavorful ingredient used in a variety of cuisines worldwide. With their long green stems and small white bulbs, scallions are a member of the allium family, which also includes onions, garlic, and leeks. They have a milder flavor than most onions, and their texture is crunchy and tender. Scallions are commonly used raw in salads, salsas, and as a garnish, or cooked in stir-fries, soups, and stews. They are an excellent source of vitamin K, vitamin C, and fiber, and are low in calories, making them a healthy and delicious addition to any meal.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
