So, what is sirop de maltitol?
Sirop de maltitol is a sugar-free sweetener made from maltitol, a sugar alcohol derived from corn or wheat. It has a syrup-like consistency and is often used as a substitute for sugar in various food products such as candy, baked goods, and beverages. Sirop de maltitol has a sweet taste similar to sugar but with fewer calories and a lower glycemic index. It also has the added benefit of being tooth-friendly, as it does not promote tooth decay. However, consuming large amounts of sirop de maltitol may cause digestive discomfort such as bloating and diarrhea, so it should be consumed in moderation.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
