So, what is sool?
Sool is a traditional Korean ingredient made by fermenting grains, such as rice or barley, with water and yeast. This fermentation process creates a sour, slightly alcoholic liquid that is often used as a base for refreshing summer drinks, such as sool-ongeju, which is mixed with honey and fruit. Sool is also used in marinades for meat and fish, as well as in soups and stews for added depth of flavor. This versatile ingredient is packed with probiotics and beneficial bacteria, making it a popular choice among health-conscious consumers looking for natural alternatives to processed foods.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
