So, what is сорбитовый сироп?
Sorbitol syrup, also known as sorbitol solution, is a clear, colorless liquid made by hydrogenating glucose. It is commonly used as a sugar substitute in the food industry due to its lower caloric value compared to sucrose. Sorbitol syrup has a sweet taste and a viscosity similar to honey, making it useful in baked goods, confectionery, and beverages. Additionally, it can act as a humectant, preventing moisture loss and increasing the shelf life of products. Sorbitol syrup is also used in pharmaceuticals as an excipient and in personal care products as a moisturizing agent.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
