So, what is soys lecithin?
Soy lecithin is a natural food ingredient derived from soybeans, commonly used as an emulsifier and stabilizer in processed foods, chocolate, and baked goods. It is a mixture of phospholipids, which help to create a smooth texture and prevent ingredients from separating. Soy lecithin is also known for its potential health benefits, as it contains choline, a nutrient that may improve brain function and support liver health. However, those with soy allergies should exercise caution when consuming products containing soy lecithin.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
