So, what is starterkultúra?
Starterkultúra is a specialized food ingredient used in the production of fermented foods, such as yogurt, kefir, and sourdough bread. It is a mixture of live bacteria and yeasts that are carefully cultivated and propagated to create a unique flavor and texture in the final product. The bacteria in the starterkultúra help break down the sugars in the food, producing lactic acid and other compounds that give the fermented food its characteristic tangy taste. Using starterkultúra can be a fun and rewarding way to experiment with different flavors and textures in your homemade fermented foods.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
