So, what is steviolglykosider?
Steviol glycosides are natural sweeteners extracted from the leaves of the Stevia rebaudiana plant. They are 200-350 times sweeter than table sugar but contain zero calories, making them a popular alternative to sugar in many food and beverage products. Steviol glycosides are also used in dietary supplements and as a sugar substitute for people with diabetes or those looking to reduce their sugar intake. Despite their intense sweetness, steviol glycosides have a slightly bitter aftertaste that some people find unpleasant. However, they are generally considered safe for consumption and have been approved by many regulatory agencies worldwide.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
