So, what is stroop?
Stroop is a traditional Dutch syrup made from boiling down sugar, water, and occasionally added flavorings such as cinnamon or lemon zest. It has a smooth, thick consistency and a rich caramel-like flavor with a hint of sweetness. Stroop is commonly used as a topping for pancakes, waffles, and bread, but can also be used in baking or cooking to add depth and sweetness to dishes. This versatile ingredient has been a staple in Dutch kitchens for centuries and continues to be a beloved and essential component of Dutch cuisine.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
