It is a naturally occurring mineral that is commonly used as a food ingredient and dietary supplement. Magnesium sulfate is highly soluble in water and is often used as a laxative to relieve constipation. It is also used as a magnesium source in the food industry, as a nutrient supplement in animal feed, and as a component in fertilizers. Additionally, magnesium sulfate is used in various medical applications, including as a treatment for pre-eclampsia in pregnant women and as a muscle relaxant.
