So, what is tiabendazol?
Tiabendazole is a synthetic fungicide that belongs to the benzimidazole chemical class. It is commonly used in the agriculture industry to control various fungal infections in crops and fruits, as well as in the treatment of parasitic infections in animals. Tiabendazole works by inhibiting the growth of fungal cells by disrupting the assembly of microtubules, which are important for cell division. This results in the prevention of fungal growth and spread. Despite its effectiveness, tiabendazole has raised some concerns about its potential toxicity to humans, particularly when consumed in high doses.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
