So, what is vitex agnus-castus?
Vitex agnus-castus, also known as chaste tree berry, is a popular herbal supplement derived from the fruit of a small tree native to the Mediterranean region. Its historical use dates back to ancient Greece, where it was believed to promote chastity and reduce libido. Today, it is primarily used by women to regulate menstrual cycles, alleviate premenstrual syndrome (PMS) symptoms, and support fertility. Vitex agnus-castus is rich in flavonoids, essential oils, and other compounds that have anti-inflammatory and hormonal balancing effects. It is available in various forms, including capsules, tinctures, and teas.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
