So, what is wheatstarch?
Wheatstarch is a fine, white powder derived from wheat flour that is widely used as a thickening agent in a variety of food applications. It has a neutral taste and is commonly used in soups, sauces, gravies, and desserts. Due to its gluten content, wheatstarch is not suitable for individuals with celiac disease or gluten intolerance. However, it is a versatile ingredient that can enhance the texture and consistency of many recipes. It is also a common ingredient in the manufacturing of paper, textiles, and adhesives.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
