So, what is wodorowęglan sodu?
Sodium bicarbonate, commonly known as "wodorowęglan sodu" in Polish, is a versatile food ingredient with a wide range of uses. It is a white crystalline powder that is slightly alkaline and has a mild, salty taste. Sodium bicarbonate is commonly used in baking as a leavening agent, as it reacts with acids to produce carbon dioxide gas, which causes dough to rise. It is also used as a food preservative, a pH regulator, and a texture enhancer. In addition, sodium bicarbonate is used in the production of soft drinks, candies, and other food products. Despite its many benefits, it should be used in moderation as excessive consumption can lead to health problems.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
