So, what is zwaveldioxide?
Zwaveldioxide, also known as sulfur dioxide, is a food preservative commonly used in the production of dried fruits, wines, and other processed foods. Its acidic properties help to prevent the growth of bacteria, yeast, and mold, thereby extending the shelf life of these products. However, excessive consumption of zwaveldioxide has been linked to health issues such as asthma and allergic reactions in some individuals. As a result, many countries have set limits on the amount of this ingredient that can be used in food products.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
