So, what is ansjos?
Ansjos, also known as anchovy, is a small oily fish with a strong, pungent flavor. It's commonly used as an ingredient in Mediterranean and Asian cuisines, particularly in sauces, dressings, and soups. Ansjos is a good source of protein, healthy fats, vitamins, and minerals, such as calcium, iron, and omega-3 fatty acids. Due to its strong taste, it's often used sparingly or as a seasoning agent to add depth and complexity to dishes. The salty and savory flavor of ansjos can enhance the taste of pastas, pizzas, sandwiches, and salads.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
