So, what is aspartams?

Aspartame is a low-calorie artificial sweetener commonly used as an alternative to sugar in various food and beverage products. It is made by combining two amino acids, phenylalanine and aspartic acid. Aspartame is about 200 times sweeter than sugar and can be found in many diet drinks, chewing gum, desserts, and other processed foods. Some studies suggest that excessive consumption of aspartame may have negative health effects, including headaches, dizziness, and even cancer. However, regulatory agencies around the world continue to deem aspartame safe for human consumption within acceptable daily intake levels.
