So, what is chiasamen?
Chiasamen, also known as chia seeds, are small, black or white seeds that come from the plant Salvia hispanica, native to Mexico and Guatemala. These seeds are packed with nutrients, including fiber, protein, and omega-3 fatty acids. When mixed with liquid, chia seeds can absorb up to 10 times their weight and form a gel-like substance, making them a popular ingredient in vegan and gluten-free recipes for pudding, smoothies, and baked goods. They also have a mild, nutty flavor that complements a wide range of dishes. Chia seeds are versatile, easy to store, and can be a healthy addition to any diet.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
