So, what is dextroses?
Dextroses, also known as glucose, is a simple sugar that is naturally present in many fruits and vegetables. It is a vital source of energy for our body's cells and is commonly used as a sweetener in food and beverage products. Dextroses can also be derived from cornstarch through a process known as hydrolysis, which breaks down the starch into its constituent glucose molecules. This highly versatile ingredient is commonly used in baking, brewing, and other food applications, where it provides sweetness, enhances flavor, and helps to improve texture and shelf life.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
