So, what is et polyphosphates?
"Et polyphosphates" are a group of food additives used to enhance the texture and appearance of processed foods. These compounds consist of chains of phosphates and are commonly added to meat, poultry, and seafood products to improve their water-holding capacity, which can increase juiciness and tenderness. However, there is some controversy surrounding their use, as excessive intake of polyphosphates has been associated with negative health effects such as cardiovascular disease and kidney damage. Therefore, it is important to consume them in moderation and to choose whole, unprocessed foods whenever possible.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
