So, what is fatty acid salts?
Fatty acid salts are compounds that are derived from the reaction of fatty acids with a base, such as sodium hydroxide. They are commonly used in the food industry as emulsifiers, stabilizers, and thickeners, due to their ability to mix with both water and oil-based ingredients. Fatty acid salts can be found in a variety of foods, including baked goods, dairy products, and processed meats. They are also used in personal care products, such as soaps and shampoos. Fatty acid salts are generally considered safe for consumption in moderate amounts, but excessive intake may have negative health effects.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
