So, what is ferment lactiques?
Ferment lactiques, or lactic acid bacteria, are a group of microorganisms that play a vital role in the fermentation of various food products. These beneficial bacteria are commonly used in the production of yogurt, cheese, sauerkraut, pickles, and other fermented foods. They work by converting lactose and other sugars into lactic acid, which not only gives these foods their characteristic tangy flavor but also helps to preserve them. In addition to their role in food production, ferment lactiques have been linked to various health benefits, such as improved digestion, enhanced immune function, and reduced inflammation.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
