So, what is ferments d'acide lactiques?
Ferments d'acide lactiques, or lactobacillus, are live bacteria used in food production to ferment and preserve various types of foods. They are naturally present in many fermented products such as yogurt, cheese, sauerkraut, and pickles. These bacteria convert lactose, the sugar found in milk, into lactic acid, giving fermented foods their characteristic tangy taste and sour flavor. Lactobacillus has also been linked to various health benefits, including improved digestion and immune function. It is a popular ingredient in probiotic supplements and fermented foods that promote gut health.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
