So, what is galactooligosaccharides?
Galactooligosaccharides (GOS) are a type of prebiotic fiber that are commonly added to foods and dietary supplements. These complex carbohydrates are made up of chains of galactose molecules and have been shown to selectively stimulate the growth and activity of beneficial bacteria in the gut, such as Bifidobacteria and Lactobacilli. This can lead to a range of potential health benefits, including improved digestion, strengthened immune function, and enhanced nutrient absorption. GOS is commonly used in infant formula to promote healthy gut flora in babies, and is also found in certain dairy products, such as yogurt and kefir.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
