So, what is le sirop de maïs?
Le sirop de maïs, or corn syrup, is a sweet and viscous liquid derived from corn starch. It is commonly used as a sweetener in food products such as candy, soft drinks, and baked goods. Le sirop de maïs is an alternative to sugar, with a slightly less sweet taste and a higher viscosity. It is made through a process of hydrolysis, in which corn starch is broken down into smaller molecules, resulting in a syrup that is easy to pour and mix. Le sirop de maïs is also used in the production of industrial products such as adhesives and paper products.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
