So, what is phosphoric acids?
Phosphoric acid is a clear, colorless, odorless liquid with a sour taste. It is a mineral acid that is widely used in the food industry as an acidity regulator and flavor enhancer. Phosphoric acid is commonly found in carbonated beverages such as cola and is also used in the production of various food products like cheese, baked goods, and processed meats. It is an important ingredient in the manufacturing of fertilizers, detergents, and pharmaceuticals. While it is generally recognized as safe for consumption in small amounts, excessive intake of phosphoric acid may have negative health effects.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
