So, what is alforfon?
Alforfon, also known as buckwheat, is a versatile and nutrient-dense ingredient that has been enjoyed in many cultures for centuries. Despite its name, buckwheat is not actually a type of wheat, but rather a seed that is related to rhubarb and sorrel. It is naturally gluten-free and a good source of protein, fiber, and minerals such as magnesium and copper. Buckwheat has a slightly nutty flavor and can be used in a variety of dishes, including porridges, pancakes, and noodles. Its unique properties also make it a popular ingredient in gluten-free baking.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
