So, what is almidón modificados de tapioca?
Modified tapioca starch is a versatile food ingredient derived from the cassava root. It undergoes a process of modification to enhance its properties and functionality, making it an excellent thickener, binder, and stabilizer in various food applications. The modification process alters the structure of the starch molecules, improving their resistance to heat, acid, and shear. This results in a stable ingredient that can withstand a wide range of processing conditions, such as high temperatures, freezing, and thawing. Modified tapioca starch is commonly used in baked goods, sauces, soups, gravies, and other processed foods to improve texture, consistency, and shelf-life. It is also gluten-free and can be used as a substitute for wheat flour in gluten-free recipes.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
