So, what is aluminum tristearate?
Aluminum tristearate is a white, odorless powder with a molecular formula of Al(C18H35O2)3. It is commonly used as an emulsifier and stabilizer in food and cosmetic products. Aluminum tristearate can improve the texture and consistency of processed foods, preventing separation and increasing the shelf life of the product. In cosmetics, it is often used as a thickening agent and to improve the spreadability of creams and lotions. While generally recognized as safe by regulatory agencies, some studies have raised concerns about the potential health effects of aluminum exposure.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
