So, what is anato?
Anato, also known as achiote, is a vibrant red-orange seed obtained from the fruit of the achiote tree, native to tropical regions of the Americas. With a subtle, earthy flavor and a slightly sweet aroma, anato is a versatile ingredient used for both coloring and seasoning in various cuisines worldwide. Its natural red pigment is often extracted and used to add a distinct hue to dishes, from rice and stews to meats and sauces. Anato is also believed to possess anti-inflammatory properties and is used in traditional medicine to treat various ailments.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
