what is vegan

Is backpulver vegan?

Backpulver, also known as baking powder, is a versatile ingredient used in baking to help dough and batter rise. It is a mixture of an acid, typically cream of tartar, and an alkaline substance, usually baking soda, which react together when moistened, producing carbon dioxide gas that causes the dough or batter to expand. Unlike yeast, which requires time to ferment, backpulver acts immediately, making it a quick and convenient leavening agent. It is commonly used in recipes for cakes, biscuits, and breads, and can also be used as a cleaning agent or deodorizer.

Backpulver is a vegan food ingredient.
