So, what is beta-karoten?
Beta-carotene is a naturally occurring pigment found in many colorful fruits and vegetables, particularly carrots, sweet potatoes, and spinach. It is a type of carotenoid, which is a group of plant pigments known for their antioxidant properties. Beta-carotene is converted by the body into vitamin A, which is essential for healthy vision, immune function, and skin health. Consuming foods rich in beta-carotene may also help reduce the risk of certain types of cancer and heart disease. Additionally, beta-carotene supplements are sometimes used to treat skin conditions and to promote healthy aging.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
