So, what is bêtacarotëne?
Beta-carotene is a naturally occurring pigment found in many fruits and vegetables, particularly those that are orange or yellow in color. It is a type of carotenoid, which is a group of plant pigments that are known for their antioxidant properties. Beta-carotene is converted into vitamin A in the body, which is essential for maintaining healthy vision, skin, and immune system function. Foods high in beta-carotene include carrots, sweet potatoes, mangoes, and spinach. Supplemental beta-carotene is also available in capsule or liquid form for those who may have a deficiency or who wish to increase their intake.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
