So, what is birne?
Birne is the German word for "pear", a fruit that is prized for its delicate sweetness and juicy texture. Pears have a distinctive shape, with a round base that tapers up to a narrow top, and their skin can range from green to yellow to red. When ripe, the flesh of a pear is soft and creamy, with a flavor that is both tart and sweet. Pears can be eaten fresh or cooked, and are often used in desserts like pies, tarts, and crumbles. They are also a popular ingredient in salads, paired with tangy cheeses and nuts for a delicious contrast of flavors and textures.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
