So, what is black truffle?
Black truffles, also known as black diamonds, are a highly sought-after culinary delicacy. These rare, subterranean fungi grow in symbiosis with the roots of certain trees, and their pungent aroma and earthy flavor make them a prized ingredient in haute cuisine. The exterior of the truffle is rough and knobby, with a blackish-brown color and a firm, dense texture. When shaved or grated, the flesh reveals a marbled interior of black and white that imparts a rich umami flavor to dishes. Black truffles are a luxury ingredient, with a price tag to match, but their unique taste and aroma make them an unforgettable addition to any gourmet meal.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
