So, what is bone/bonemeal?
Bone/bonemeal is a type of food ingredient made from the finely ground bones of animals. It is commonly used in pet foods, livestock feed, and organic fertilizers due to its high nutrient content. Rich in phosphorus, calcium, and other essential minerals, bone meal is an excellent source of plant nutrients that can enhance soil fertility and promote healthy plant growth. In addition to its nutritional benefits, bone meal is also a sustainable ingredient, as it helps to reduce waste by repurposing animal byproducts that would otherwise be discarded.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
