So, what is bonemeal?
Bonemeal is a finely ground powder made from crushed animal bones that have been steamed and sterilized. This versatile food ingredient is commonly used as a natural fertilizer to provide plants with essential nutrients such as phosphorus and calcium. Bonemeal is also a rich source of protein and minerals, making it a popular supplement for livestock feed. It can be added to pet food to support bone health and aid digestion. Bonemeal is also used in some traditional dishes, such as Jamaican "mannish water" soup, and as a flavor enhancer in certain types of sauces and gravies.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
