So, what is borragine?
Borragine, also known as borage, is a herbaceous plant with bright blue star-shaped flowers and bristly leaves that are often used as a culinary ingredient. It has a delicate cucumber-like flavor and is commonly used in Mediterranean cuisine, particularly in Italian and Spanish dishes. The leaves and flowers of the plant are edible and can be used fresh or dried, in salads, soups, stews, and as a garnish. Borragine is also known for its medicinal properties, with its high levels of gamma-linolenic acid (GLA) making it a popular herbal supplement for promoting healthy skin and reducing inflammation.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
