So, what is calciumsulfaat?

Calciumsulfaat, also known as calcium sulfate or gypsum, is a white, odorless powder commonly used in the food industry as a firming agent, dough conditioner, and coagulant. It is produced by the reaction between sulfuric acid and limestone, which results in a mineral-rich compound containing calcium and sulfur. Although it has no nutritional value, calciumsulfaat is considered safe for consumption and is often added to products such as tofu, cheese, and baked goods to improve their texture and stability. Apart from its culinary uses, calciumsulfaat is also utilized in various industries, including construction, agriculture, and medicine.
