So, what is hidroxido de potasio?
Hidroxido de potasio, also known as potassium hydroxide, is a chemical compound that is commonly used in the food industry as a pH regulator and food thickener. It is a strong alkaline solution that can react with acids to form salts and water. Hidroxido de potasio is also used in the production of soaps, detergents, and biodiesel. While it is generally safe for consumption in small quantities, excessive intake of hidroxido de potasio can cause severe health risks such as burns, respiratory problems, and gastrointestinal issues. As such, it should be handled with caution and only used under proper supervision.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
