So, what is caldo de cerdo?
Caldo de cerdo is a traditional Mexican soup made with pork, vegetables, and aromatic herbs. The broth is rich and flavorful, with a deep umami taste that comes from slowly simmering the bones and meat for hours. The vegetables, usually carrots, onions, and celery, add sweetness and texture to the dish, while bay leaves, garlic, and peppercorns provide a complex layer of spices. Caldo de cerdo can be served as a comforting meal on its own, or as a base for other dishes such as pozole or menudo. Its hearty and satisfying nature makes it a perfect choice for cold days or when you need a nourishing pick-me-up.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
