So, what is carbonato di potassio?
Carbonato di potassio, also known as potassium carbonate, is a white, odorless powder with a slightly salty taste. It is commonly used as a food additive, as well as in the production of glass, soap, and fertilizers. This ingredient has alkaline properties and is often used as a leavening agent in baking, as it reacts with acids to produce carbon dioxide, which causes dough to rise. In addition, carbonato di potassio can be used as a pH regulator, emulsifier, and as a flavoring agent in certain foods.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
