So, what is carbonatos de sôdio?
Carbonatos de sódio, also known as sodium carbonates, are a type of inorganic salt commonly used as a food ingredient for a variety of purposes. They are white, odorless, and water-soluble, and have a slightly alkaline taste. Carbonatos de sódio are often used as a leavening agent in baking, as well as a pH regulator, emulsifier, and thickener in various processed foods. They are also used in the production of glass, detergents, and other industrial applications. While generally recognized as safe by regulatory agencies, excessive consumption of carbonatos de sódio may cause digestive discomfort in some individuals.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
