So, what is cassava syrup?
Cassava syrup is a natural sweetener made from the cassava plant, which is native to South America but now cultivated worldwide. The syrup is produced by cooking down the starchy root vegetable until its natural sugars are concentrated into a thick, amber-colored liquid with a rich, caramel-like flavor. Cassava syrup is vegan, gluten-free, and has a low glycemic index, making it a healthier alternative to refined sugar. It can be used as a sweetener in beverages, baked goods, and other recipes, and is often found in traditional Brazilian and Caribbean cuisine.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
