So, what is cellulose?
Cellulose is a naturally occurring compound that makes up the cell walls of plants. It is a complex carbohydrate that is composed of long chains of glucose molecules. As a food ingredient, cellulose is often used as a source of dietary fiber and to add texture to processed foods. Due to its high fiber content and low caloric density, it can be beneficial for weight management and digestive health. Cellulose is commonly derived from wood pulp or cotton, and can be found in a variety of products such as baked goods, dairy products, and supplements.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
