So, what is celtuce?
Celtuce, also known as stem lettuce or Chinese lettuce, is a unique vegetable that is prized for its crisp, juicy stems and tender leaves. It is a member of the lettuce family, but unlike most lettuce varieties, celtuce is grown for its stem rather than its leaves. The stem of the celtuce is thick, juicy, and slightly sweet, with a flavor that is reminiscent of cucumber and celery. The leaves are tender and mild, with a slightly nutty flavor. Celtuce is commonly used in Asian cuisine, particularly in stir-fries and salads, and is a great source of vitamin C, fiber, and antioxidants.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
