So, what is cetylalcohol?
Cetyl alcohol is a fatty alcohol commonly used as an emollient and thickener in various cosmetic and personal care products. It is a waxy, white solid that is derived from natural sources such as coconut and palm oil or produced synthetically. Cetyl alcohol helps to soften and moisturize the skin, while also providing a creamy texture to lotions, creams, and other formulations. It is also used in hair care products to help improve the texture and manageability of hair. Despite its name, cetyl alcohol is not a drying alcohol and is generally considered safe for use in skincare products.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
