So, what is chicken casing?
Chicken casing is a natural sausage casing made from the intestines of chickens. This edible casing is thin, translucent, and has a slightly chewy texture. It is commonly used in the production of sausages, hot dogs, and other meat products. Chicken casings have a distinct flavor that complements the taste of the meat, and they are a healthier alternative to synthetic casings. They are also easy to handle and can be stuffed by hand or by using a sausage stuffer. As a natural product, chicken casings are biodegradable and have a low environmental impact.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
